There are many animals that have become extinct in the wild but continue to be maintained in Zoological parks.

i) The type of conservation which is observed in this case is known as ex-situ conservation. In this type of conservation, threatened animals and plants are taken out from their natural habitat and kept in special places where they can be protected and provided with special care in order to conserve them.


ii) Any other two ways which help in this type of conservation are: botanical gardens (usually a collection of living plants where plants are grown for scientific study or public display) and wildlife safari parks.
