Q17 of 137 Page 100

Factories:

(2a + 3b)2 – 16c2

Given,

(2a + 3b)2 – 16c2

= (2a + 3b)2 – (4c)2

By using the formula a2 – b2 = (a + b)(a – b)

We get,

(2a + 3b)2 – 16c2 = (2a + 3b)2 – (4c)2

= {(2a + 3b) + 4c}{(2a + 3b) – 4c}

= (2a + 3b + 4c)(2a + 3b – 4c)
