Find the value of a, so that the point (3, a) lies on the line represented by 2x - 3y = 5.

Since the point (3, a) lies on the line represented by 2x - 3y = 5


Thus, the point (3,a) will satisfy the above linear equation


∴ 2×(3) - 3×(a) = 5


⇒ 3a = 6-5


⇒ 3a = 1


∴ a = (1/3)


Thus, the value of a is (1/3).
