Solve the following pairs of linear equations by the method of substitution:

3x — y = 0, x — y + 6 = 0

3x – y = 0

y = 3x …[1]


By substituting eq[1] in x – y + 6 = 0


x – (3x) + 6 = 0


x = 3


Now, by eq[1]


3x – y = 0


3(3) – y = 0


y = 9


x = 3, y = 9
