The pair of linear equations 2x + y — 3 = 0 and 6x + 3y = 9 has

Given: 2x + y — 3 = 0 and 6x + 3y = 9


Change the given equations to the form,


a1x + b1y + c1 = 0 and a2x + b2y + c2 = 0 …(i)


2x + y – 3 = 0


And


6x + 3y – 9 = 0


On comparing with (i) we get,


a1 = 2,


b1 = 1,


c1 = – 3;


a2 = 6,


b2 = 3,


c2 = – 9;




This means that the equations are consistent and have infinitely many solutions.
