A square room having one side equal to 12 m is to be paved with square tiles of side 50 cm. What is the number of tiles required to pave the room?

Given:


The side of Square = 12 m


The side of square tiles = 50 cm


Formula Used:


Area of square = (side)2


1 m = 100 cm




Area of the room = 12 × 12 = 144 m2

So, a total of 576 tiles of size 50 cm are required for the floor of the room of side 12 m.
