In the Imperial Capital of Vijayanagara, the water resources were well developed. This was due to the location of Vijayanagara, as river Tungabhadra was formed a natural basin. Several embankments were built to built several sizes of reservoirs. Because it’s one of the arid zones, several tanks were built near 15th century to collect rainwater. This collected rainwater was used to irrigate the fields and for transporting the water to the city.
