AC||BD and CE||DF. If OA = 12cm, AB = 9 cm, OC = 8 cm and EF = 4.5 cm, then find FO.


Given: AC||BD and CE||DF.OA = 12cm, AB = 9 cm, OC = 8 cm and EF = 4.5 cm

Required: Length of FO


Consider Δ BOD


Here, AC||BD


∴ By Thales theorem

∴ CD = 6cm


Now, Consider ΔDOF


Here, CE||DF


∴ By Thales theorem

∴ OE = 6cm


∴ FO = OE + EF = 6 + 4.5 = 10.5cm


∴ Length of FO = 10.5 cm.
