A cell kept in a certain solution bursts after some time. This occurs due to the inward movement of water, that is, endosmosis and the type of solution in which endosmosis takes place is known as a hypotonic solution. In a hypotonic solution the solute concentration is lower than that of the solute concentration inside the cell, thus, facilitating endosmosis leading to the bursting of cell.
