Pressure exerted by the cell contents on the cell wall.

When the cell is turgid the contents of the cell exerts some pressure on the cell wall. This pressure is known as the turgor pressure. In return to the turgor pressure, the cell wall exerts wall pressure on its contents. When the turgor pressure exceeds the wall pressure the cell bursts open.
