Diffusion is the free movement of molecules of a substance from its higher concentration to its lower concentration when the two are in direct contact. This phenomenon can be easily explained by the process of mixing of a soluble dye in water where the dye dissolves in water taking up the space between the existing molecules of water and thus evenly distributed in the solvent
