How does perspiration help to maintain the body temperature in summer?

i. Perspiration is a natural phenomenon that results in the release of excess water from the body in form of sweat. It is also known as sweating.

ii. It occurs due to evaporation. The evaporation causes the cooling sensation to the body.

iii. When the weather is hot, the temperature of the body increases. Sweat is liquid in nature and when the temperature of the body increases, evaporation occurs and sweat changes to gas and takes the heat from the body.

iv. Thus, sweat takes the heat and cools down the body.
