The gastric glands are present in the wall of the stomach that release secretion for digestion of food.

Secretion of gastric glands:

1. HCl- The gastric gland releases hydrochloric acid which creates an acidic medium for the functioning of the enzyme.

2. PEPSIN- It releases a protein-digesting enzyme called pepsin that helps in the breakdown of the protein.

3. MUCUS- It releases mucus which protects the inner lining of the stomach from the action of the acid under normal condition.
