Q39 of 90 Page 133

Bashir bought an article for Rs 1215 and spent Rs. 35 on its transportation at what price should he sell the article to have a gain of 16%?

Let selling price be x

Cost price of article = Rs. 1215

Additional transportation charge = Rs. 35

So, total cost price = 1215 + 35

He gained 6%

So,

Gain = selling price – cost price

x = 0.16 × 1250 + 1250

x = Rs. 1450
