A shopkeeper buys two TV sets of the same type. He sells one of them at a profit of 20% and the other at a loss of 5%. If the difference in selling prices is ₹700, find the cost price of each TV set?

Let cost price of the TV is = x


By selling of one TV he gain 20% profit


So, profit


Selling price


And the other set he sell at 5% loss


Selling price


According to the question, difference in selling price is 700


1.2x–0.95x = 700


0.25x = 700



x = 2800


Cost price of TV is Rs. 2800
