A shopkeeper bought 300 eggs at 80 paise each. 30 eggs were broken in transit and then he sold the remaining eggs at 1 Rupee each. Find his gain or loss as percent?

Total CP of 300 egg = 80 × 300 = 24000 paise


i.e. CP = 240 Rupees


30 eggs were broken so the remaining egg = 300 – 30 = 270


Selling price of one egg = 1 Rupee


So selling price of 270 egg = 270 × 1 = 270


SP is greater than CP so it must be profit


So profit = 270 – 240 = 30
