Describe US hegemony as a hard power, with the help of any two examples.

Hegemony by definition is the social, cultural, ideological, and/or economic influence exerted by a dominant group. It can be expressed in a variety of ways. US hegemony as a hard power is expressed in the absolute and relative dominance of its military superiority over the world. Two examples of this are as follows –


a) The US army is an absolute power as it can deploy its armed forces accurately and lethally against any enemy but has the advantage of sheltering its own forces to the maximum extent from the drawbacks of warfare.


b) No other country in the world can match the US in its military capability. And this discrepancy is not only in terms of military numbers or military budget but also in terms of the technological development that is done in the US military.
