Q15 of 46 Page 1

Do you agree that cultural consequences of globalisation are always negative ? Justify your answer with any two suitable arguments.

Globalisation is a multidimensional concept and affects all spheres of our lives. Its influence extends over to the cultural domain. As is the case with all concepts and policies, the cultural implications of globalization have both positive and negative aspects.

It is often said that globalisation is affecting out food choices. But in reality, burger and dosas are two different food groups. Globalisation is allowing us to have more choices.

Globalisation leads to cultural appreciation. An Indian boy may love his ‘jeans’ but globalisation allows an American boy to appreciate the ‘dhoti-kurta’.
