If one zero of the quadratic polynomial (k – 1) x2 + kx + 1 is –4 then the value of k is

Given: -4 is the zero of the polynomial f(x) = (k – 1) x2 + kx + 1


Put f(-4) = 0


(k – 1)(-4)2 + k(-4) + 1 = 0


16k -16 – 4k + 1 = 0



Hence, option B is correct.
