Q5 of 110 Page 41

Find the 17th term of the A.P. 4, 9, 14 …

Given A.P. 4, 9, 14 …

Here, first term, a = 4

We know that common difference, d = a1 – a.

∴ d = 9 - 4 = 5

We know that nth term of A.P. , tn = a + (n – 1) d.

⇒ t17 = 4 + (17 – 1) (5)

= 4 + 16 (5)

= 4 + 80

= 84

∴ 17th term of A.P. i.e. t17 = 84
