State any five functions of the blood.

Five functions of blood are :

a) Transport of digested food from the alimentary canal to the tissues.


b) Transport of oxygen from the lungs to the tissues.


c) Transport of carbon dioxide from the tissues to lungs.


d) Transport of excretory material from the tissues to the liver, kidney or skin for elimination.


e) Blood distributes the hormones secreted by endocrine glands directly into the blood.
