Explain the following terms:

Endothelium

Endothelium is the innermost layer of cells in the walls of arteries and veins made up of a single layer of squamous epithelium. The walls of the blood capillaries contain only Endothelium. It us a type of epithelium that lines the interior surface of blood vessels & lymphatic vessels forming an interface between circulating blood or lymph in the lumen & the rest of the vessel wall.
