What was the importance of tennis court swearing in the French Revolution?

The citizen who came under the third estate was not provided with any rights. When they demanded the right to vote for each of its members, the king rejected their proposal. As a result, the representatives of the third estate assembled in the hall of an indoor tennis court on the grounds of Versailles on 20th June 1789. They swore not to leave until the Constitution is drafted. After so much crisis and turmoil, King Louis XVI accepted their proposal of the drafting of the constitution and recognized the national assembly. Assembly then abolished all the taxes, privileges given to the clergy was removed and lands under the control of Churches were taken away.
