Ideas of liberty and democratic rights were the most important legacy of the French revolution. Explain.

The most important legacy of the French Revolution was the idea of Liberty and Democratic rights. When the constitution of 1791 was formed, the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen was announced. It gave certain rights such as - Right to life, Freedom of speech, Freedom of opinion and equality before the law which was the greatest legacy of the French revolution. Even the idea of the individual rights and about the social power was begun to discuss in many parts of the world. Such thoughts led to the abolition of the feudal system. Many colonised countries tried to create a sovereign state by getting inspired by the French revolution. Example – two people inspired from the ideas of the French revolution were Tipu Sultan and Ram Mohan Roy.
