Solve the following equation:

9y + 5 = 15y – 1

Given equation: 9y + 5 = 15y – 1

⇒ 9y – 15y = -5 – 1 (Transposing 15y to LHS and 5 to RHS)


-6y = -6


⇒ y = (Transposing -6 to RHS)


y = 1.


∴ The solution of 9y + 5 = 15y – 1 is y = 1.
