Verify whether the values indicated against the following polynomials are zeroes of the polynomial.

p(x)=3x+2; x= -2/3

After substituting the value for variable in the polynomial if we get 0 then that value is called zero of the polynomial.


It means that if p(x) = 0, then x will be called as the zero of the polynomial.


p(x) = 3x + 2; x = -2/3


substituting in 3x + 2


⇒ p() = 3() + 2


⇒ p() = -2 + 2


⇒ p() = 0


Yes is zero of polynomial p(x) = 3x + 2
