Factorize:

2x + 3xy + 2y + 3y2

Given 2x + 3xy + 2y + 3y2 = (x×2 + x×3y + y×2 + y×3y)


Taking x common from 1st and 2nd term and y from 3rd and 4th,


2x + 3xy + 2y + 3y2 = x(2 + 3y) + (y)(2 + 3y)


⇒ 2x + 3xy + 2y + 3y2= (x + y) (2 + 3y)
