Find the indicated terms in each of the following arithmetic progression:

a = 3, d = 2; ; tn, t10

Given: a = 3 , d = 2


To find: tn and t10


We have,


tn = a + (n – 1)d


tn = 3 + (n – 1) 2


= 3 + 2n – 2


tn = 2n + 1


Now, n = 10


So, t10 = 3 + (10 – 1)2


= 3 + 9×2


t10 = 3 +18


t10 = 21
