If cos θ = 7/25, write the value of (tan θ + cot θ).

Given: cos θ = 7/25

Therefore sin θ = √(1 – cos2 θ)


= √(1 –(49/625))


= √[(625 – 49)/625]


= √(576/625)


= 24/25


Thus, tan θ = sin θ/cos θ = (24/25)/(7/25)


= 24/7


Also, cot θ = 1/tan θ = 7/24


Therefore, tan θ + cot /θ = (24/7) + (7/24)


= (576 + 49)/(24 × 7)


= 625/168
