Q24 of 186 Page 345

If cot A = 4/3 and (A + B) = 90°, what is the value of tan B?

We are given that: cot A = 4/3

⇒ tan (90° – A) = 4/3

Since A + B = 90°, therefore B = 90° – A

Therefore, tan (90° – A) = tan B = 4/3
