Total votes = 100% = 600000

Votes that were declared invalid = 8%


Therefore, valid votes = total votes – invalid votes


= 100% – 8%


= 92%


Number of valid votes = 92 % of total votes



= 552000votes


Number of votes that the candidate got = 65% of valid votes



= 358800 votes


Therefore, the candidate got 358800 votes.
