Ramesh is 10 years older than Karim. After 4 years twice Ramesh's age will be equal to thrice Karim's age. How old are Ramesh and Karim at present?

Let Karim’s age be x and Ramesh’s age be y

According to question


y = x + 10 ……(1)


After 4 years


Karims's age = x + 4


Ramesh's age = y + 4


Twice Ramesh’s age is equals to thrice Karim's age


2(y + 4) = 3(x + 4)


2y + 8 = 3x + 12


Put value of y from (1)


2 (x + 10 ) + 8 = 3x + 12


2x + 20 + 8 = 3x + 12


28 – 12 = 3x – 2x


16 = x


Put x = 16 in (1)


y = 16 + 10


y = 26


Therefore, Karim’s age is equals to 16 years and Ramesh's age is equals to 26 years
