Q11 of 153 Page 113

Find the angle whose supplement is four times its complement.

60°

Let the angle = X

Complement of X = 90° – X

Supplement of X = 180° – X

According to question,

⇒ 180° – X = 4(90° – X)

⇒ 180° – X = 360° – 4X

⇒ – X + 4X = 360° – 180°

⇒ 3X = 180°

⇒ X = 60°

Therefore angle = 60°
