Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2 — 6x + 8.

Equating the expression with 0,


x2 — 6x + 8 = 0


On factorising it further,


x2 - 4x - 2x + 8 = 0


x(x - 4) – 2(x - 4) = 0


(x - 4) (x - 2) = 0


∴ x = 4 or x = 2


∴ The zeroes of x2 — 6x + 8 are 4 & 2.
