Q7 of 227 Page 114

The quotient when x3 – 5x2 + 7x – 4 is divided by x–1 is

Given: x2 – 2x + 7

Required: Reminder of x3 – 5x2 + 7x – 4 at x – 1

By synthetic division we can find Quotient of x3 – 5x2 + 7x – 4 at x = 1

∴ Quotient of x2 – 2x + 7 when divided by x–1 = x2–4x + 3

∴ Correct option is –Option(B)
