Q8 of 805 Page 1

What is outbreeding? Mention any two ways it can be carried out.

Outbreed is the process of mating between two different species. Out-breeding shows variations compared to inbreeding and have the ability to adapt to environmental variations. It results in the increased heterozygous individuals; therefore the risk full characteristics will be masked by dominant alleles.

First, locally adapted species gene pool interacted with a new set of species resulting in an intermediate character. The second mechanism for out-breeding depression is when locally adapted gene gets broken down by mating between individuals from differing genetic backgrounds.
