Excessive and continuous use of pesticides has resulted in evolution of some new species of pests. Explain what must have led to this. What is this type of evolution called ?

The excessive and continuous use of pesticides has resulted in the evolution of some new species of pests due tonatural selection. The pests which survived from the effects of the pesticides gradually became resistant towards it and multiplied into new varieties of pests which are resistant to the pesticides.

These must-have occurred due to the natural selection in the form of variations or mutation. This type of evolution is called anthropogenic evolution.
