Draw a circle with center O and radius 4 cm. Draw any diameter AB of this circle. Construct tangents to the circle at each of the two end points of the diameter AB.


Steps of Construction:


1. Draw a circle with center O and radius 4 cm.



2. Draw any diameter AOB of the circle.



3. At A, draw ∠ OAX = 90°. Produce XA to Y.



4. At B, draw ∠ OBP = 90°. Produce PB to Q.



Here, XAY and PBQ are the tangents to the circle at the endpoints of the diameter AB.
