Construct a Δ ABC in which BC = 8 cm, B = 45° and C = 60°. Construct another triangle similar to ΔABC such that its sides are of the corresponding sides of ΔABC.


Steps of Construction:


1. Draw a line segment BC = 8 cm.



2. From B, draw YBC = 45°.



3. From C, draw C = 60° such that it intersects BY at A.



4. Δ ABC is the required triangle.


5. Below B, draw an acute angle CBX.



6. Take 5 points C1, C2,…, C5 on BX such that BC1 = C1C2 = … = C4C5



7. Join CC5.



8. Draw a line parallel to CC5 from C3 such that it intersects BC at C’. Join C3C’.



9. Draw a line parallel to AC from C’ such that it intersects AB at B’. Join B’C’.



Δ B’BC’ is the required triangle.
