‘Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion’ comment.

Diffusion is the process of spontaneous movement of a substance from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration. Osmosis is its special kind since in osmosis the passage of water occurs from a region of high water concentration to a region of low concentration through a semi permeable membrane.
