What is parthenogenesis? Give two examples.

PARTHENOGENESIS: In some lower animals as well as other organisms the new individual can be formed without the process of fertilisation. This happens because the female gamete undergoes certain development and form new individual without fertilisation.


This process of development of new individual without fusion of male and female gamete is known as parthenogenesis.
